Ronald Bury

Ronald H. Bury of Roscoe, NY, a retired operating engineer for Local # 825 and a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the Roscoe Regional Rehab. & RHCF, Roscoe, NY. He was 82.

The son of the late Harvey and Ruth Janet Kraft Bury, he was born September 6, 1931 in the Village of Hancock, NY.

Ronald was a life member of the Roscoe-Rockland Fire Company-Station # 29; for he was a communicant of Gate of Heaven Church, Roscoe, NY; he enjoyed making maple syrup, hunting, fishing, gardening, and his beagles. Before working for Local # 825, Ronald served as a NYS Trooper in Troop F and Troop C.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Hildegarde Newman Bury, at home; one daughter, Sharon Mootz of Rapid City, SD; four sons, Ronald Bury and his wife Phyllis of Roscoe, NY, Scott Bury and his wife Caroline of Evanston, WY, Glenn Bury and his wife Patsy of Gooding, ID, and Chris Bury of Roscoe, NY; seven grandchildren, Loren, Darren, Erin, Brian, Stacey, Kathy, and Robert; six great grandchildren, Melissa, Kodie, Katee, Ryan, Grayson, and Kathleen; and his companion Macy.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Norm Bury, Milard Bury, Richard Bury, and Doug Bury; and two sisters, Marion Buck and Janet Leroy.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.

Firematic services will be Tuesday evening at 7 PM in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 10 AM in the Gate of Heaven Church, Roscoe, NY. Father Edward Bader will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Obernberg, NY, at a later date.
