Ruby Jones

Ruby E. Jones of Liberty, NY, a longtime resident, peacefully passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018, at the Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center in Campbell Hall, NY.

The daughter of the late Albert and Margaret Simmons, she was born August 12, 1934, in Charleston, SC. Ruby was 84 years old.

Ruby was a retired Certified Nurse’s Aide at Catskill Regional Medical Center and was a longtime member of the Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of almost 50 years, Lloyd “Cha Cha” Jones, at home; three daughters, Debra Dodd of Bronx, NY, Carol Dodd-Cordwell and her husband William of Boston, MA, and Donna McFadden and her husband Kendall of Henrico, VA; two sons, Darryl Dodd and his wife Amy of Goldsboro, NC, and Barry Jones of Liberty, NY; one stepdaughter, Pamela Williams and her husband Wayne of Henrico, VA; one sister, Rosalee Clara Mack of Charleston, SC; two brothers-in-law, Floyd Jones of Spring Valley, NY, and James Jones of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several beautiful nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.

She was predeceased by a sister, Helen Rivers; a brother, Albert Simmons Jr; and two grandchildren, Tony Bridges and Belissea Bridges-Smith.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 11 AM to 12 Noon in the New Beginnings Community Worship Center (UMC), 170 N Main Street, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 12 Noon in the church.  The Rev. Norman Graves will officiate.

Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
