Shantilal V. Shah, MD

Shantilal V. Shah, MD of Jeffersonville, NY, a forty six year active physician in Sullivan County, died Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the Garnet Health Hospital in Middletown, NY. He was 86.

The son of the late Vijaypal and Jiviben Gosrani, he was born January 5, 1938 in Lakhbaward, India. Shantilal received his Doctorate in Medicine in India and did his Residency in New York City before opening his practice in Jeffersonville, NY. He was a member of the Medical Society of the State of New York, had been the Health Officer for several years at the Jeffersonville-Youngsville Central School and had been honored as the Jeffersonville Grand Marshall.

Survivors include his wife Dhankuvar Shah, at home; two sons, Aatish Shah and his wife Aarati and granddaughter Zaara of Scottsdale, AZ and Amit Shah of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Dinu and Chandan of India; his brother-in-law, Amu Shah of Kenya; his sister-in-law, Anu Shah and her husband Dr. Dhiru Shah of Circleville, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 1-3 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. Dignified cremation will be provided by Harris Crematorium, LLC.
