Sherri Barnes

Sherri L. Herman Barnes passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the age of 57.

Born in Port Jervis, NY she was the daughter of Roberta and Baer Herman of Montague, NJ.

Sherri was the owner of Kwik as a Wink Printing. Her love and passion was auto racing, she came from a family of auto racers so she did attempt to be the racer many times which she absolutely loved. She was the videographer for Access 8, and for Sullivan County Speedway for many years where she met her wonderful husband/ auto racer Joe Barnes.

Sherri was diagnosed with MS in 1988 at the age of 33 and never for one minute did she believe that this disease would get the best of her. She fought with nothing but a positive way of life. She sky dived, water skied, snow skied, she won over her disease for many years. She also fought very hard to make positive changes for anyone with disabilities. She was the president of the Disabilities Awareness Council. Sherri was going to make sure that people with disabilities were going to be able to go anywhere and do anything no matter how many waves she would make she was getting their attention and would fight until whatever needed to be done was being worked on or done. Her efforts to find a cure were also endless. She was an angel.

Sherri was predeceased by her parents Roberta and Baer Herman of Montague, NJ. 2 sisters - Bette Woodruff, Jean Herman and 4 brothers - Beryle Herman, Larry Herman, Keith Herman, and Paul Herman.

Survivors include her Wonderful Husband Joe Barnes, Mother in Law Marion Barnes, Father in Law Alan Barnes, sister in law Linda Burakowski and her husband Jim, brother in law Jay Barnes, her niece Bobbi Patterson Height and her husband Steve Height, Sr., her lifelong best friends Rhonda and Mike Stevenson. Her loving caregivers June and Jalyn that Sherri loved. She is also survived by one sister Roberta Kolberg and one brother Frank Herman as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
