Sheryl White, age 76, passed away in Roscoe, New York on the morning of January 16, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Sister to Michael and aunt to Courtney, she was adored by her many friends, especially her childhood friend, Joni and her New York friend, Susan. Born on April 1, 1948, to Bob and Mitzi White, Sheryl graduated from Shaker Heights High School and received a BA in communications from Ohio University. In 1971, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in advertising. With her engaging personality and strategic focus, she was a Creative Director and a copywriter for over 50 years. Few people were as clever and fast as Sheryl, which is why she worked at some of the world's best agencies: BBDO, J. Walter Thompson, Draft, and Ogilvy & Mather. Known for her big heart and a desire to help both people and pets, Sheryl's greatest love in life was her dogs. She would always put them first. Her goal was to buy a farm and take care of every neglected dog she could find. While she worked on her dream, she volunteered at local dog shelters as well as the Woodstock food pantry. Sheryl remained in good spirits throughout most of her illness. She was a warm, kind, empathetic woman who will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sheryl's name to the ASPCA, so her love of animals will live on.
