Shirley Rode

Shirley McCune Rode of Roscoe, NY, a retired cook at the Roscoe Central School District and a lifelong area resident, died Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Roscoe Regional Rehab. & Residential Health Care Facility, Roscoe, NY.  She was 89.

The daughter of the late Harry and Elsie Hector McCune, she was born November 10, 1929 on Burnt Hill Road in Roscoe, NY.

Shirley was a member of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church; a former member of the Roscoe-Rockland Ladies Auxiliary; a former member of the Roscoe O&W Railway Museum; and a former Girl Scout leader.  Shirley and her late husband Robert, spent many days picking up the streets of Roscoe, the little town they loved dearly.

Survivors include one son, Robert H. Rode and his wife Janet; one daughter, Susan Rode Kleiman and her husband Elliott; two grandsons, Thomas M. Rode and David Kleiman; two granddaughters, Jessica M. Rode Salonen and Melissa Kleiman Kirk; five great granddaughters, Olivia Rode Salonen, Lauren Kirk, Stephanie Kirk, Maris Rode, and Astrid Rode; and one brother, Harry McCune.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Rode.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 4, 2019 at  11 AM in the Roscoe Presbyterian Church, Roscoe, NY.  Ms. Virginia Bossley will officiate.

Out of state family is unable to attend the funeral services and will attend the burial at the Riverview Cemetery in Roscoe, NY in the Spring.
