Shirley Weir

Shirley M. Weir of Liberty, NY, a retired cafeteria worker at the Liberty Central School, Liberty, NY, and a long time area resident died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at her home. She was 81.

The daughter of the late Worth and Mildred Fleming Lenahan, she was born March 29, 1932 in Russell, NY.

Shirley enjoyed walking in the Village of Liberty and feeding the birds.

In a family statement, it was said "Shirley will be deeply missed by her family and friends."

Survivors include one son, Edward B. Weir of Liberty, NY; one daughter, Lisa Forbes of Colorado Springs, CO; one sister, Mary Swift of Gouverneur, NY.

She was predeceased by her husband Edward H. Weir in 1983; two brothers, Worth, Jr. and Richard; and two sisters, Doris and Gertrude.

Graveside services and burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY, in the spring.
