Stephen Melchick

Stephen P. Melchick of Liberty, NY, the owner of Sullivan Builders of Parksville, NY, and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 62.

The son of the late John and Louise Haberland Melchick, he was born February 13, 1953 in Liberty, NY.

Stephen had retired as a corrections officer from the Woodbourne Correctional Facility, Woodbourne, NY; he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. He was a hardworking, earnest man.

Survivors include his son, Justin Melchick and his wife Camila of Fairfax, VA; and his daughter, Brittany Melchick of Burke, VA; his devoted companion, Tina Constable of White Sulphur Springs, NY; three brothers, John Melchick and his wife Judy of Livingston Manor, NY, Michael Amelchenya of New York City, NY; and Fred Melchick of Parksville, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 12 Noon in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 264 No. Main Street, Liberty, NY. Monsignor Edward Straub will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
