Vincent Asklund

Vincent J. Asklund of Liberty, NY, a retired electronic engineer for Aeroflex in New York City, NY and a long time area resident, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 80.

The son of the late Gustav and Siri Asklund, he was born February 29, 1936 in Queens, NY.

Vincent proudly served our country in the US Airforce from 1953 to 1957; he was a member and former deacon at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Levittown, NY; he attend St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Liberty, NY and was in the church choir.

Survivors include his wife Joan Asklund at home; one son, John Asklund of Liberty, NY; two daughters, Janet Asklund of Brentwood, NY and JoAnn Calmisini of FL; two brothers, Jack Asklund (Donna) and Bert Asklund; two grandsons, two granddaughters; two great granddaughters; and one great grandson.

Graveside services and burial with military honors will be Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10 AM in the Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY. The Rev. Johanna Andritz will officiate.
