Vincent Capicotta

Vincent R. Capicotta of Liberty, NY, a retired manager for Gulfside Trailer Park in Key Largo, FL and a long time area resident, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. He was 95.

The son of the late Francesco and Margherita Santillo Capicotto, he was born July 17, 1917 in Brooklyn, NY.

Vincent had worked for Sears & Roebuck Co. for many years, later the US Postal Service as a mail carrier and later retired from managing several trailer parks in Florida. He loved playing music and encouraged people to smile. In this effort he played "When You're Smiling" to make people smile. His message was that music was the answer to all of the world's problems.

Survivors three daughters, Marilyn Capicotta of Liberty, NY, Janet Lee and her husband Thomas of Davie, FL, and Alice Dows and partner Daphne of Tucson, AZ; three grandchildren, Dr. Ronald Lee and his wife Kelly, Shawn Lee and his wife Diana and Samantha Fallatik; two great grandchildren, Kira and Katriel Lee; one daughter-in-law, Pamela Fallatik and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Carmela J. Capicotta in 2000; a son, Michael and two brothers, Michael and Joseph.

Visitation will be Friday, April 26, 2013 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West St. at Buckley Liberty, NY.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10 AM in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church 264 Main Street Liberty, NY. Monsignor Edward Straub will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Cold Spring Road, Liberty, NY.
