Warren A. Geyer of Grahamsville, NY, a retired civil engineer for New York State Department of Transportation, Binghamton, NY, and a long time area resident, died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 80.
The son of the late Andrew and Beverly Wicks Geyer, he was born May 31, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY.
Warren proudly served Our Country in the US Navy from 1952-1956; he was a member of the Grahamsville Reformed Church; a member of the Happy Footers Square Dance Club; and he had worked as a graphologist. He loved sitting by the pond, feeding the fish and feeding "chippy". He loved spending time with his pet cat, Muffin.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 32 years, Peggy E. Bowers Geyer, at home; one son, Lance Geyer of New Windsor, NY; one daughter, Lee-Ann Higgins and her husband, Michael of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Lyndsee Geyer, Timothy Higgins, and Eli Higgins; one sister, Barbara "Cookie" Ojima and her husband Ishmael; one sister-in-law, Donna Varderber and her husband Joe; and one brother-in-law, Jack Bowers and his wife Karen; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one son, Kurt Geyer in 1980.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West St. at Buckley Liberty, NY.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 11 AM in the Grahamsville Reformed Church, Grahamsville, NY. The Rev. Paul Ruter will officiate.
Burial will be private in the Grahamsville Rural Cemetery, Grahamsville, NY.
