Wilfredo Lopez Torres

Wilfredo Lopez Torres of Ferndale, NY, a retired Chef for Craig A. Duffy Catering in Liberty, NY and a longtime area resident died Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Garnet Health Medical Center in Harris, NY.  He was 77.

The son of the late Severo Lopez and Maria Torres Lopez, he was born April 15, 1944 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.

Wilfredo was affectionately called “Fredy” and “Elvis” by his family and friends.

He is survived by his companion, Inocencia Curbelo, at home; one daughter, Sandra Lopez Torres of Woodbourne, NY; three grandchildren, Jasmine, Josephine, and Jenna; a son-in-law, Jerome Dertinger; four step daughters, Inocencia Curbelo and her husband Jose, Maria Olan and her husband Carlos, Diana Curbelo, and Demetria Curbelo; a step son, Alberto Curbelo; two sisters, Elena Lopez Torres and Mercedes Lopez Torres; one brother, Cheo Lopez Torres; many step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two step children, Santos Curbelo and Maria Curbelo.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 10 AM until 12 noon in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 12 noon in the funeral home.  The Rev. Rafael Gonzalez will officiate.

Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
