William H. Gayron of Roscoe, NY a long-time area resident, died Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Garnet Health Medical Center, Middletown, NY. He was 74.
The son of the late Jerome and Anna Bolten Gayron, he was born March 16, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY.
William proudly served Our Country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Before retirement, he worked as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at Veritas in Barryville, NY. Bill was a volunteer fireman for the Roscoe-Rockland Fire Department, a volunteer and former Captain with the Roscoe-Rockland Volunteer Ambulance Corp., and a former Bureau of EMS Deputy EMS Coordinator. He was a Railway Fanatic; he enjoyed model railroading and the O&W Railway Museum in Roscoe.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Deborah Gayron, at home; his daughters, Jennifer Eckert and her husband Bob, Heather Gayron, and Melissa Antizzo and her significant other Michael Zamenick, all of Roscoe, NY; his grandchildren, Zachory, Talon, Robert, Cooper, Bella, Lincoln, Kayla and Anthony; his sister, Alice Nelson and her husband Wayne of Horton, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John Gayron.
Memorial services will be Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 1 PM in the Horton Brook Free Methodist Church, Horton Brook, NY. The Rev. Russell Brussler will officiate.
Burial will be private, in the Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
