William Gilmore

William R. "Bill" Gilmore, Sr. CB handle "Sticks & Stones", of East Branch, NY, a lifelong truck driver and area resident, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Roscoe Regional Rehab. and Residential Health Care Facility, Roscoe, NY. He was 68.

The son of Robert C. Gilmore and the late Barbara Goetschius Gilmore, he was born January 8, 1948 in Liberty, NY.

Bill proudly served Our Country in the US Marine Corps. from 1967 to 1973 during the Vietnam War; he was a member of the James S. Moore American Legion Post # 167, Downsville, NY; a member of the East Branch Fire Department; a member of the East Branch Community Church; and a member of the Blue Kats Men's Club, Saugerties, NY.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Birdsall Gilmore, at home; two sons, William R. Gilmore, Jr. and his wife Crystal of East Branch, NY and Aaron C. Gilmore and his wife Jessica of Walton, NY; one daughter, Carole Ann McGlone and her husband Jason of East Branch, NY; his father, Robert C. Gilmore of Saugerties, NY; two sisters, Linda Imhoff and her husband Mark of Saugerties, NY and Lois Bouren and her husband Leonard of Saugerties, NY; 24 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and three step-daughters, Joanne, Jan, and Kim.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Gail E. Gilmore in 2004.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 10AM to 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 1 PM in the funeral home. Pastor Rocky Stilson will officiate.

Burial will be in the East Branch Cemetery, East Branch, NY.
