William E. Riecken, III of Cocoa, FL and Downsville, NY, a retired heavy equipment transporter for J. Fletcher Creamery and Sons of Hackensack, NJ, died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at his home in Florida. He was 69.
The son of Freda Weinlader Riecken and the late William E. Riecken II, he was born April 27, 1942 in Englewood, NJ.
Bill enjoyed gardening; going to flea markets and garage sales; he was a rock and mineral accumulator; and he also had worked for Teamsters Local #560 for 37 years.
Survivors include his wife Janet B. Duprey Riecken, at home; two sons, David Riecken and his wife Daniella of Rivervale, NJ, and Christopher Riecken of Ridgefield, NJ; his mother, Freda Riecken of Norwood, NJ; one sister, Jeanne DiFabio and her husband John of Harrington Park, NJ; three brothers, Richard Riecken and his wife Carolyn of Rivervale, NJ, Daniel Riecken of Northvale, NJ, and James Riecken of Closter, NJ; one grandson, Tyler of Rivervale, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 2-4 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 4PM in the funeral home. Father Michael Shank will officiate.
Burial will be in the Paige Cemetery, Downsville, NY, in the spring.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Downsville Ambulance Squad 15166 Route 30, Downsville, NY 13755.
