Wilmer Edward Sipple of Roscoe, NY, a retired teacher for Roscoe and Liberty Central School Districts and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Roscoe Regional Rehab. & Residential Health Care Facility, Roscoe, NY. He was 91.
The son of the late Charles and Dorothy Clapp Sipple, he was born August 27, 1924 in Roscoe, NY.
Wilmer proudly served Our Country in the US Army during WWII; he was a founding member and president of the Ontario and Western Railway Museum, Roscoe, NY and had a love for trains; he was an excellent woodworker and built cabins on the lake. Wilmer enjoyed skiing, square dancing, and traveling; he even climbed a pyramid on one of his adventures.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel E. Switzer Sipple, at home; two daughters, Karen Crane and her husband Dave Morrison of Greenwich, England and Diane Sipple-Cushing of Baltimore, MD; two grandsons, Andrew Cushing and Stuart Cushing; one sister, Elaine Wieidknecht of HI; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one son-in-law, Arnold Cushing.
Visitation will be Friday, October 2, 2015 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. Joanne Utley will officiate.
Burial with military honors will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY.
